DeeAnn spent many much of her time, going to church on Sundays and gathering at Aunts and Uncles homes nearby for family get togethers. Even though it was a good life, she recalls feeling very isolated and alone on the farm. Much of the time feeling like an outcast, as many of her friends parents were doctors, and lawyers. She was labeled as "A farm kid". Later in high school that nickname would turn into "Double D",as puberty kicked in, much to DeeAnn's advantage! High School consisted of cheerleading, track and gymnastics. After entering a contest and winning Teen Magazine's, model search, DeeAnn went on to attend a 2 year finishing school, where she majored in Fashion. She entered local bikini contests, and not surprising earned victory after victory! From here, you guessed it, DeeAnn decided that modeling was her destiny!
Moving to the modeling capital of the world New York, DeeAnn started with agencies and continued to model anything and everything that came along for another 2 years very successfully. DeeAnn woould win the title of Mrs. New York International in 1995. After her marriage, and having 3 children, DeeAnn at 33 years of age, hit the gym for the first time ever in her life, and decided to live out her dream, fitness modeling.! She wanted to prove to the world that a 33 year old, mother of 3 ,could make it like never before! She became certified as a personal trainer, started competing in NPC Figure competitions, and consistently beat women 10 years younger, without children, placing in the top 5 each time! Her Confidence skyrocketed, and DeeAnn hit the pavement HARD, with blinders on, and has never looked back since! In just over 2 years, DeeAnn has done everything from covers, to centerfolds, to Videos, DVD's, calendars, cookbooks, television segments, radio interviews, contests, you name it, she's done it. She has spokesmodeled for supplement companies, attended bodybuilding shows, trade shows,and has a resume to prove her hard work, as she has been published every single month now for 3 1/2 years!
This one time Iowa farm girl has certainly turned it around. When asked how she feels about her accomplishments, she says that three of the biggest reasons for making it in such a short period of time, was because she never ever forgot where she came from, she believed in herself, and never looked back, and constantly placed her family, fans and friends on pedestals, where they belonged, because without them, she would have never been able to gain the confidence and self esteem that she once had lacked her entire life.
